Resentful probably describes them very well. :)Kathryn Warnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00397714441908100576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19545049.post-3170924344707381402012-02-15T17:15:47.489+00:002012-02-15T17:15:47.489+00:00'I have no idea what Edward II's long-term...'I have no idea what Edward II's long-term plans were regarding the imprisoned Contrariants; did he intend to keep them locked up forever, or did he think that one day he might be secure enough on his throne to release them?'<br /><br />What else could he have done with them? Presumably he couldn't execute all of them even if he wanted to. If he let them go they would still be a threat; if he fined them and let them go they would be a resentful threat; if he exiled them they would be a resentful threat trying to recruit foreign allies. Maybe he was hoping to keep them out of trouble, and hoping that something would turn up.Carlahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11901028520813891575noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19545049.post-47778253840982747062012-02-12T19:50:48.037+00:002012-02-12T19:50:48.037+00:00Thanks, Anerje! Thanks, Anerje!Kathryn Warnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00397714441908100576noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19545049.post-80468251875214831852012-02-12T19:30:09.054+00:002012-02-12T19:30:09.054+00:00Troubled times indeed.
