An illegitimate daughter of King John, Joan did marry a Welsh Prince Llywelyn ap Iorwerth He had several mistresses and it is difficult to ascertain exactly which of his children were those of his wife Joan, or his mistresses with the exception of David and Ellen, they were definitely the children of Joan. Llywelyn's oldest son Gruffudd was the son of Tangwystl. The rest is harder to ascribe a mother with 100% certainty. David died without issue. Ellen has left many descendants one of them being Richard 11 of England. I even had a professional research who came to the same result to William Alfred. Is it true or not to be related to the English Royal family or French. But one research I am interested is a DNA strand that links with the Royal Families and common families is the Niall the Nine Hostages of the Y chromosome, which a striking percentage of men in Ireland and Scotland share the same chromosome, suggesting that one in twelve Irishmen are descendants of Niall. I have this very DNA. Its a very interesting and fascinating research. This year however, I fell into Royal lineage and once in, it becomes all inter-marrying and lines cross and re-cross!!! I am confused as to why people WANT to be linked to Royalty. Some of my less affluent lines that take me to the 15thC and beyond are simply names and locations, I dont have to become emotionally attached to anymore than a name. But when you fall into nobility and royalty, it is NOT a pretty place, I am coming across direct ancestors hung, locked in the tower for life, hung drawn and quartered, repeatedly under house arrest, exiled, beheaded slain in duels, and killed in battle. This is not just men but women and children also. There is obviously more to be discovered, but royalty is not all fairy tales and castles, it is all a brutal game of chess.<br />MarieAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-19545049.post-54209369045226778972014-04-19T06:48:17.303+01:002014-04-19T06:48:17.303+01:00Thanks so much!
