Thank You, My Readers

Edward II's Effigy
Keep of Berkeley Castle
Just wanted to put up a quick post before the next proper one (about Edward II's cousin Henry, earl of Lancaster) to say: today the average number of daily visitors to this blog reached 200 for the first time.  The number of page views stands at just under 225,000 since I added a counter to the site in 2008, and readers have left 4220 comments.  Wow, that's a lot of people who read a blog dedicated to a disastrous and unpopular king of 700 years ago.  :-)  Edward also has almost 600 fans on his Facebook page now.

I'm so pleased, and really want to say a big THANK YOU to all of you for visiting and for your support!  By the way, I'm open to suggestions about future posts, so if there's anything or anyone of Edward II's era you'd like to read about, let me know any time, either in a comment thread or via email: mail(at)edwardthesecond(dot)com, or edwardofcaernarfon(at)yahoo(dot)com.

I'm looking forward to hearing what you have to say about Henry of Lancaster. He also features in my WIP.

Congratulations, Kathryn!
You deserve all this fame completely, so I think. ;-)
And I really can think of some events and people you haven't yet written about, but for now I'm perfectly content to wait for your take on Henry. Keep up the good work, as they say!

Edward II's reign is interesting (for many of the wrong reasons) and I have to thank the chance discovery of your blog for sparking my interest in the said monarch. I would rate your blog as outstanding for two reasons:
1. the quality of the historical research;
2. the quality of your writing.
So thank you and well done!
As far as future posts, may I suggest two themes that interest me:
1.appraisals of how other historians read events in the life of Edward II. For example, there is much to consider in Ian Mortimer's theory about the afterlife of Edward II.
2. The role of historical fiction in shaping our understanding of history.I know that you have touched upon the egregious errors of some writers many times but what is the impact of fictional work on our consciousness and how much of our 21st century selves do we impose on historical characters?
