A very merry Christmas to all our readers from Kathryn Warner and Edward II!
If you fancy some reading set in Edward II's time over Christmas, I recommend Martin White's To Catch the Conscience of the King, which deals with Edward's captivity in 1327 and his afterlife, and the excellent historical novels of Anna Belfrage, whose main character serves Roger Mortimer and is a witness to Edward's reign and its aftermath.
My book Long Live the King? The Mysterious Fate of Edward II will be out in a few months, and I'm also writing a bio of Hugh Despenser the Younger, lord of Glamorgan, for Pen and Sword Books. It'll be out in 2018. It'll be followed by biographies of Edward II's nieces the de Clare sisters, Philippa of Hainault, and John of Gaunt, oh, and Richard II will be out next year too; 2017 is the 650th anniversary of Richard's birth in 1367. Happy reading! :-)

Wow! Best Christmas gift this year. Thank you for the mention - I hope you have a great Christmas!
Happy Christmas, Kathryn.
Congratulations on the new books!
Merry Christmas, Kathryn.
I'm especially looking forward to the book about Richard II. I got the impression he has been put into the 'total failure' corner rather unjustly.
Sorry about the late Christmas wishes Kathryn, but can I wish you all the very best for the new year as well.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year, everyone! xx
OMG! Philipa's biography is so overdue! I'm so happy you are on it! And De Clare girls!!! Good luck in 2017!
I'm very late to this discussion, but I'm SO excited about your new books! Particularly of à Richard II and John of Gaunt, but certainly looking forward to, and will read, them all!
Thanks, Ami! :) There's also going to be one called Blood Roses, a history of the houses of Lancaster and York 1245-1415. ;-)
